SPRINGFIELD: John K. Wells, age 64, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, December 21, at his home following a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born in Conway, MA and was a graduate of Greenfield High School. John was a driver for Baystate Fuel and Oil for 15 years, previously driving for Belmont Oil Company for many years prior. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time in his “man cave.” John is survived by his wife and best friend of 17 years Peggy (Gosselin) Wells; three daughters: Aimee Wells and John Spellecy, Suzannne Wells and Aaron Brigham, and Karen Wells; grandchildren: Shauna, Nora, Peyton and Cole; his former wife Tracy Sheridan and Timmy and Julie Sheperd. He will be missed by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Ann Marie Gosselin; sisters-in-law, Kathy Gosselin, Mickie Lempke and husband Billy and their children, Chris and Kevin; brothers-in-law, David Gosselin, Skip Gosselin and Linda Goulet. John was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Mary (Mroczek) Wells, a brother, David Wells, a sister, Cindy Sheperd and her husband Dick, and his close and dear friend, Jimmy O’Brien, who was like a brother to John. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. John’s family would like to thank the nurses at Baystate Medical Center and Baystate Hospice for the loving care they gave to John through his illness. The family asks to please omit flowers.
