Jose Oliveras

Jose Oliveras, age 51 of Chicopee, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and had lived here for many years. Jose was a longtime machine operator at U.S. Tsubaki & Sunoco Paper Products in Holyoke, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Holyoke. Joe loved his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He is survived by his parents: Ignacio and Carmen (Roman) Segarra; a daughter: Savannah Oliveras of Florida; two brothers: David Oliveras Roman of Springfield and Santiago Oliveras Galindez of Holyoke; his sister-in-law Nereida Roman; two nieces, Crystal A. Roman and Liana A. Roman; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral will be held Friday, April 26 at 9:00 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow at Forestdale West Cemetery, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 25 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
