CUMMINGTON: Kathleen Chivas Moylan, age 65 of Cummington and formerly of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Northampton with her family by her side. She was born in Holyoke on May 29, 1953, daughter of the late Stephen J. and Imelda (Guerin) Chivas. Kathleen worked at Viability Inc. in Northampton (formerly Community Enterprises) for over 35 years. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Kathleen is survived by her three sisters: Lillian E. Meade and her husband Larry (Kathleen’s hot tub buddy) of Pataskala, Ohio, Eleanor C. Maloney of Westfield, and Marlene C. Wresien of Chicopee; her nephews Jeffrey Kyle (Amy) Meade of Pataskala, Ohio and Brian Jason (Niki) Meade of Blacklick, Ohio; and her great-nephew, Parker John Meade and her great-niece, Charley Grace Meade, also of Blacklick, Ohio. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Chivas, of Weatogue, Connecticut, and many friends, coworkers, and extended family members including the Wresien Boyz and their families. Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Moylan and her brother, John Chivas. Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, Kathy had requested donations be made in her memory to Viability Inc., 5 Franklin Street, Northampton, MA 01060, which is an organization that serves clients with disabilities.
