Kevin Theroux

ATLANTA, GA

Kevin Theroux ,49, loving Son of John (deceased 2010) and Lucille (Labonte) Theroux, passed away suddenly on 9/22/19 in Atlanta, GA. Kevin was a longtime resident of Chicopee, MA. Kevin graduated from Chicopee Comp HS in 1988, received his BS in Computer Science from Northeastern University in 1993 and his Master of Science in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic University in 1997. Kevin worked as a programmer for IBM from 1993 –1994; He was a Senior Applications Analyst for Phoenix Life Insurance Company from 1997-1999; a Senior Systems Analyst & Technical Consultant for MassMutual Financial Group from 1999- 2001 and a Systems Consultant for Phoenix Life Insurance Company from 2001- 2003. From 2004- 2018 Kevin worked as a Solution Architect for The Harford Life Insurance Company. He worked for them in Simsbury, CT and then remotely from his home in Atlanta. Kevin lived in Atlanta, GA for the past 8 years. Kevin was very compassionate and a great leader. He had a strong character and was very charismatic. People were drawn to his smile, whit and the warmth he exuded towards everyone. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and most of all travelling the world. He will be missed immensely by so many. He leaves behind his partner of 7 years Mike Hopkins of Atlanta GA, his mother Lucille Theroux of Westfield MA and Naples FL, his sister Cheryl Wood of Westfield MA and his nephews Jake and Andrew also of Westfield, MA.  He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins. A wake is scheduled for Friday 10/4/19 from 5-8 PM at Barry Farrell Funeral home located at 2049 Northampton Street Holyoke MA.  A Memorial Mass is planned for 10:00am on Sat 10/5/19 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church located at 127 Holyoke Road in Westfield MA. Please join us in celebrating Kevin’s life and the love he shared with everyone. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers we request that memorial donations be made in Kevin’s name to either The Community Foundation of Western MA (333 Bridge Street, Springfield MA 01103) or Lost-n-Found Youth  (2585 Chantilly Dr NE, of Atlanta GA 30324)
