HOLYOKE
Leslie H. Rogers, 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility. He was born on November 12, 1926, in Holyoke, MA, to Joseph and Johanna (Kelly) Rogers. Leslie was the husband of Juliette (Charest) Rogers, who predeceased him, and the father of Sally Rogers. Leslie also leaves his sisters-in-law, Carol Rogers and Helen Rogers, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Kennedy, Colletta Aberdale, James Rogers, Joseph Rogers and Francis Rogers. After attending Holyoke schools, Leslie joined Rogers Van and Storage, a business founded by his father, from whom he inherited his strong work ethic. He later worked at Holyoke Community College, from which he retired. Leslie always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and a quip on his lips. He enjoyed gardening, antiquing and singing. An animal lover, Leslie will be greatly missed by his dog, Zoe, and his cat, Hanna. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:45am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in St. Patrick’s Chapel of St. Jerome Church at 10:30am. Burial will be held in St. Jerome Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:45 to 9:45am.
