Loretta R. (Therrien) Lewkowicz, 93, of Holyoke, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Mitchell and Eva (Cabana) Therrien and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Loretta worked for many years at Acme Chain Corporation, retiring in 1988, then was an employee at Stop & Shop in Holyoke until her final retirement several years ago. A lifelong resident of Holyoke, she was a communicant of both Mater Dolorosa and Our Lady of the Cross parishes. Her husband, Joseph J. Lewkowicz, predeceased her on December 23, 1977. Loretta is survived by a daughter, Joyce A. Konopacki and her husband James of Easthampton, a son Alan J. Lewkowicz of Texas, three grandchildren: Jordan, Kyle and Jared; two great grandchildren, Liam and Keegan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers: Romeo, Clifford and Kenneth Therrien, and two sisters: Juliette and Winifred. A service will be held Monday, September 25^th at 11:00a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will be held Monday morning only from 9:30 to 11:00a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
