BELCHERTOWN: Martin J. Clayton, 88 of Belchertown, the only son of Martin T. Clayton and Martha (Cook) Clayton, died February 27, 2019 after a brief illness. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in Korea, receiving two Bronze Stars, a Korean Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. After his service, Marty held numerous construction positions until his retirement. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three close cousins: Theresa Mykytiuk, Mary Richardson, and Gertrude Sugrue. Marty leaves behind numerous cousins, especially the the Arble, Danehey, and Mykytiuk families. All services will be private. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home handled arrangements.
