CHICOPEE:  Mary F. Danehey, age 50, of Chicopee, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of John F. and Velma J. (Peters) Danehey of Chicopee and was employed as a Residential Advisor at Westover Job Corps in Chicopee for the last five years. Prior to that, Mary had worked as a CNA at several area hospitals. She attended local schools and lived most of her life in Chicopee.  Besides her parents, she leaves two brothers, Vincent P. Danehey of VA, James P. Danehey and his wife Melissa of Springfield, three grandchildren, Sabra, Kadin, and John Laplante, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was also the mother of three sons: Alan J. Laplante of Chicopee, Erik J. Laplante and his wife Joann of Chicopee, and the late Joshua E. Guyotte. The Funeral will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Mary to the Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
