Maureen F. (Hanan) Manijak

BELCHERTOWN

Maureen F. (Hanan) Manijak passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born in Holyoke on November 25, 1934, daughter of the late Leo and Mary (McCourt) Hanan, and lived there until moving to Belchertown in 2002. Maureen was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Belchertown and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament and Sacred Heart High School in Holyoke, and retired from the Holyoke School Department in 1997, after serving as a clerk there for 25 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley P. Manijak, in 1991, as well as two brothers, Leo and James Hanan. Maureen is survived by three daughters: Mary Beth Gerard and her husband Alex of Belchertown, Karen Gaulin of Holyoke, and Lyn Girard and her husband Jean-Guy of Belchertown; two sons: Brian Manijak and his wife Maura of Holyoke, and James Manijak and his wife Mary of Chicopee; her cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth and Sam (Amanda) Gaulin, Jimmy Manijak and Sarah (Tommy) Phai, Alexandra and Stephanie Gerard, Chantelle, Jacob Jennifer, and Kyleigh Girard, Jeremy Aluxek and Amanda (Josh) Diaz, and Brian Pfister; as well as 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. All services for Maureen will be private and are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
