Normand R. Michon

CHICOPEE

Normand Romeo Michon, age 82, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully Saturday July 6, 2019 at Renaissance Manor on Cabot Street in Holyoke. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Cleophas and Orianna (Gauthier) Michon, and was educated in Holyoke Schools. Normand was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Sergeant. He was employed as a Structural Lab Technician for almost 32 years at Hamilton Standard Division of United Technology, retiring in 1998. He was a 50-year Pilgrim Degree member of the Chicopee Moose Lodge #1849, the DAV Chapter 11, and a former member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 25 in Holyoke. Normand is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean F. (Madeiros) Michon; his children: Normand R. Michon, Jr., Randy M. Michon, and Ellen A. Skinner; many grandchildren; and many many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and in-laws from the Michon family. Normand was the step-father of Galen and Frank Woodward. The funeral will be Friday July 12^th at 10:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by Committal with Military Honors at 11:00am in Precious Blood Cemetery, Willimansett Street/Rt. 33, South Hadley.
