HOLYOKE

Patrick W. Lunney, 31, died September 24, 2017. Patrick was born in Holyoke, attended South Hadley schools and was a graduate of South Hadley High School and Westfield State University. He was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Hampshire County jail for many years. Pat was a communicant of St. Jerome Parish, a member of the Holyoke Elks #902, the Irish Cultural Center, and the Hampshire County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. He was an Assistant coach with South Hadley High School Junior Varsity basketball team, an avid golfer, and a fan of all New England sports teams. Patrick is survived by his wife, Brighid D. (Callahan) Lunney; his parents, Paul D. and Paula I. (Kane) Lunney of South Hadley; grandmother Jane Kane of Holyoke; a sister, Sally Healy and her husband Paul of Holyoke; his parents-in-law Stewart and Maureen Callahan; two sisters-in-law, Bevin Callahan of CA and Bronwyn Murphy and her husband James of Holyoke; many aunts and uncles, including a special uncle William C. Lunney, and many cousins and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet Friday September 29 at 9:30am in St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Forestdale West Cemetery, Rock Valley Road, Holyoke. By request of the family, there are no calling hours. The family requests to please omit flowers.
