Paul J. Clifford, Jr.

HOLYOKE:  It is with great sadness that the family of Paul J. Clifford Jr. USN Retired, announces his passing on May 30, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 59. Paul was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Paul J. Clifford Sr. and Mary P. (Hoy) Brewer.  He was raised in Holyoke, Massachusetts, attending Blessed Sacrament and Holyoke Catholic High School. After high school Paul enlisted in the US Navy, where he graduated from Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn. Paul was an avid fan of New England sports and NASCAR. He wore the #88 proudly. He enjoyed living on Stiles Lake. Paul enjoyed reading and music. He loved his family and his Country. Paul was predeceased by his parents, his brother Edward J. Brewer, and his nephew Tyler P. Lawrence. Paul leaves behind his brother Mark K. Clifford and his wife Patricia of Holyoke, his sister Nancy M. Lawrence and her husband Ron of Brooklyn, New York, his sister Denise E. Dunn of Webster, Mass., his brother Joseph P. Brewer and his wife Lori of Troy, New Hampshire, his nieces and nephews: Kelley Dunn, Allie Brewer, Katie Lawrence, Nathan, Megan, Erin, and Robert Clifford, his grand nephews Kadin and Malachi, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves his beloved cat Tori. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass at 11:15 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.  Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Paul to:  Cure SMA, 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove, IL 60007.
