HOLYOKE

Pearl M. (Destromp) Rydzak, age 87, of Holyoke passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Loomis House.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Ulric and Elizabeth (Couture) Destromp and was educated in the Holyoke Schools.  Pearl was a retired Drill Press Operator at American Advertising. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Parish and a member of the VA Auxiliary. Pearl was the widow of Joseph P. Rydzak who predeceased her in 1986.   She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Rydzak, Sr., and his wife Inez of Chicopee, and John P. Rydzak Sr. and  his wife Linda of Holyoke; 6 grandchildren, Cynthia (Paul) Hobert, John P. Rydzak, Jr., Rebecca ( Dennis) Birks , Joseph A  Rydzak Jr., Jason (Megan)  Rydzak, and Jessica Rydzak; 9 greatgrandchildren, Dennis Birks III, Abigail Rydzak, Maya  Birks, Emma Hobert, Ari Birks, Jenna Hobert, Kadan Rydzak, Lilliah Bell Rydzak, Ryan A. Rydzak; 2 godchildren, Mary Ball and Pete Richards, a sister, Gertrude Houle of Easthampton and many nieces and nephews.  Pearl was predeceased by 10 siblings, Joseph, Ernest, Albert, Leonard, Leon, and Emile Destromp, Irene Richards, Bertha Bessette, Doris Lenarczyk, and Anna Carroll.  Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 25thfrom 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, 23 Sycamore St.  Burial will take place in St. Jerome Cemetery. The Rydzak family would like to thank the Administration and Staff at the Loomis House in Holyoke for the compassionate care and love shown to Pearl.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
