Peter Patrick McCavick

Peter Patrick McCavick, age 83, passed away peacefully Sunday November 11, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center with his son by his side. Peter was born in Boston, MA son of the late Michael O’Rourke and the late Catherine McCavick. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Newburyport, MA and received his Associate Degree in Business Administration from Holyoke Community College. Peter served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant-1^st Sergeant for 337 Squadron, rejoining the Air Force during Operation Desert Storm in 1990. He retired in 2004 as the Supervisor of Environmental Services at Holyoke Medical Center. He was a member of American Legion Post # 351, the Air Force Sergeant Association, a communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Parish, and was an avid sports fan. Peter is survived by his wife, Pauline (Crilly) McCavick; his son, Daniel P. McCavick of Holyoke; his brother Paul A. McCavick and his wife Rose of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday November 17 at 10:30am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church at 11:00am. Burial with Air Force Military Honors will be in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:30am.
