SOUTH HADLEY

Phyllis Helen “FiFi” (Pudlo) Flynn, 89, of South Hadley, passed away on June 27th, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on September 26, 1929 in Holyoke, the daughter of Peter and Olympia (Strzempek) Pudlo. She was predeceased by her husband John F. Flynn, Jr. who died in April 2009. Phyllis was predeceased by her youngest daughter Karen Flynn and grandson Michael Pennell, five brothers: Frank, Theodore, Edmund, Chester and Albin; and four sisters: Adele, Stasia, Evelyn and Helen. Phyllis was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Phyllis was a communicant of the former Mater Dolorosa Church. Phyllis is survived by her children: Janice Beaulieu and her husband Albert of TN, Loriann Flynn of South Hadley, Sheila Spencer of FL, and John F. Flynn III and his wife Ellen of FL; six grandchildren: Tara Flynn, Timothy (Sarah) Flynn, Erin Spencer, A.J. Beaulieu, Jason P. Pennell and Eric Beaulieu; six great grandchildren: Jason R. and Jaira Pennell, Jacoby Spencer, Tighe, Troy and Jack Flynn; a sister, Barbara Stelmach of Holyoke and sister-in-law, Anne Flynn of Holyoke. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was the quintessence of family, she was very loving, caring, supportive and had a great sense of humor. “FiFi” enjoyed Polka music and was an avid fan of her grandchildren’s sports events.  The family would like to thank Ciara Anavitate for the excellent and loving care she provided to Phyllis, as well as the caregivers from Cooley Dickenson Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.  The funeral will be held Monday, July 1st at 8:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 30th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
