SOUTHAMPTON
Robert Alphonse Dame, age 91, of Southampton, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday June 18, 2019 in his home. Robert was born in Holyoke, son of the late John and Celina (Langlois) Dame, and was a graduate of Holyoke Trade High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He proudly served as a Combat Medic, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Robert was a lifelong parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Holyoke, and was a member of the American Legion Post 337 in Chicopee, and a former member of the Holyoke Elks #902. He was the Owner of R.A. Dame Millwork for many years. Robert is survived by his wife of 65 plus years, Noella L. (Provost) Dame; four daughters: Barbara Dame and her husband Douglas Langevin of Southampton, Donna Dame Will and her husband Peter of Belchertown, Deborah Durocher and her husband David of Chicopee, and Darlene Gramolini and her husband Frank of Southampton; 6 grandchildren: Michael Durocher (Alisha) of Chicopee, Phylicia Lavigne (Anthony) of South Hadley, Celina Will of Denver, CO, Symon Will of Holyoke, Robert Gramolini (Lori) of Chicopee, and Matthew Durocher of Easthampton; 3 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Oliver, and Annabella; his beloved cat “Tux”, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all of his siblings: Adele Dion, Lucille Labonte, Leona Carrier, Alice Stasz, John Dame, Jr., Claire Johnston, and Charles Dame. The family would like to thank the Staff of the VA Medical Center in Leeds, Riverbend Medical Group in Chicopee, the Holyoke Medical Center and Hospice LifeCare. The funeral will be held Monday June 24 at 9:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by Committal with Military Honors at 11:00am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours are Sunday June 23 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
