HOLYOKE: Roger D. Tourville, age 85 of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Francis and Eva (Foisy) Tourville, and was educated in the former Precious Blood Schools. He was a proud graduate of Assumption College where he was quarterback for the football team. Roger was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a retired foreman with the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #90, East Mountain Country Club, and the former Liberty Quoit Club. Roger was the widower of Phyllis C. (Authier) Tourville who predeceased him on April 29, 2017. He is survived by a daughter, Karen Fortier of Holyoke; a son, Michael Tourville of Holyoke; three grandchildren: Brandi Tourville, AnneMarie (Kevin) Hannigan, and Michael (Kaybeth) Fortier; two great-grandchildren: McKenzie and Logan Hannigan; and a brother, Rene (Tina) Tourville of Florida. Besides his parents and wife, Roger was predeceased by a son, Darren Tourville; a daughter, Sandy Tourville; and a son-in-law, Michael Fortier. The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
