HOLYOKE:  Susan Lee “Ma Gypsy” Brown, age 63, of Holyoke, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born and educated in Holyoke. Susan was the creator of “Beggars only” where she advocated for those in need. She is survived by her mother, Sheila Kurtz and husband Al Kurtz, her father William Brown; three sons: David, Teigh and Anthony; four grandchildren; her brothers: Billy, Durand, and Gregory; her sisters: Pattie, Dariel, Judy, Jaquette and Angela, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Mama Jean. Susan was predeceased by a brother, Michael Brown. Calling hours will be held Friday, June 9th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial private. Please omit flowers.
