Terry T. Border

HOLYOKE:  Terry “Tim” Border. 78, died on Friday, March 15, 2019.  He passed away surrounded by family and loved ones.  He leaves his wife Carol of 45 years, his three daughters, Kim (Gary) Hollenbeck of South Hadley, MA; Lynn (Steve) Martel of Holyoke, MA; and Jennifer (Tony) Laudato of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Dante Reynolds of Orlando, FL; Shane Hollenbeck of South Hadley, MA; and Kenzie and Garrett Martel, both of Erving, MA.  He was predeceased by his parents, Charlotte and Archie Border, his sister, Dorthea Border and his brother, Arden Border. Terry was born in the rural farm country of Farwell, Michigan. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was later stationed at Westover Air Force Base.  After his discharge from the service he worked for Pratt and Whitney and then Digital Equipment Corporation in Westfield for many years as a quality control supervisor, where he retired. He fiercely loved his family and took great pride in whatever they did.  Having worked in quality control for several years his attention to detail was well known throughout the family, never a detail left unattended. Terry had a quiet presence with a great sense of humor and a very loving and generous man.  He loved all sports but had a special place in his heart for the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Michigan State Spartans, and of course any team his grandkids were playing for. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by burial with military honors at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA.   Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.   The family requests donations be made in memory of Tim to Gary Sinise Foundation, P.O.
