Thomas M Brown

SOUTH HADLEY:  Thomas M. Brown, 66, of South Hadley, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke, son of Dorothy M. (Doyle) Brown of Holyoke and the late Thomas F. Brown. Tom was a 1970 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School and the former Sylvania Technical Institute in Boston. He was employed as a Senior Applications Engineer at Raytheon for most of his career. Tom was a music enthusiast, and a skilled guitar player. He was a faithful communicant of Saint Jerome Parish in Holyoke. Besides his mother Dorothy, Tom is survived by a brother, James M. Brown; five sisters: Patricia McKissick, Marian Kirley and husband Fran, Dorothy St. Germain and husband Mark, Joan Bowen and husband Jamie, Christine Brown, and a sister-in-law Lucinda Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Tom was predeceased by a brother, Daniel J. Brown, and a brother-in-law John McKissick. The Brown family would like to thank the Holyoke Medical Center Oncology Department staff, with special thanks to Erin Hurlburt. You all made such a difference in Tom’s life, and we will be forever grateful.  The funeral will be held Saturday morning, January 27th at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass in Saint Patrick Chapel of Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tom Brown to Oncology Department at Holyoke Medical Center, 575 Beech St. Holyoke MA 01040.
