HOLYOKE: Thomas Leahy, age 64, of Holyoke, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late James F. and Margaret M. (McCormick) Leahy and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Tom served in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1979 and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a retired Correctional Officer for the State of Connecticut. Tom enjoyed golfing, was a member of the Holyoke Lodge of Elks #902, and was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams.. He is survived by a son, Thomas Leahy, Jr., and wife Nicole of ME, a daughter, Margaret “Meg” Leahy and her fiancé Johnny Taylor of NC; 5 grandchildren, Jackson and Lillian Leahy, Jacoby, Joshua and Jonathon Taylor; 3 brothers, James and his wife Linda of Westfield, William of Holyoke, Joseph and his wife Juanita of CA; 2 sisters, Patti Jennings of Holyoke and Margaret “Peggy” Vershon and her husband Peter of Chicopee as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11: 15 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Committal with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tommy to Paralyzed Veterans of America, Arizona Chapter, 5015 North Seventh Street, Suite 2, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
