Victoria D. “Dorothy” (Lorusso) Syniec, age 89, of Chicopee, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 19, 2017. She was born in New Haven CT, daughter of the late James and Victoria (Carasone) Lorusso and was educated in the New Haven schools. Dorothy had lived here for many years, and was employed at Spalding Sports Worldwide in Chicopee. She also was a self-employed hairdresser, and enjoyed bowling and bingo. Her husband, Max Syniec, predeceased her in 2008. Dorothy is survived by three children: Gary Syniec and his wife Linda, Robert Syniec and his wife Lisa, and Cynthia Baker and her husband John; three grandchildren: Craig Kasperzyk, Alyssa Syniec and Michael Syniec; a great granddaughter Kaylee Baker, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five siblings: Fanny Lorusso Esposito, Frances Lorusso Bimonte, Mathew Lorusso, Joseph Lorusso and Donald Lorusso. The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:45 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Chicopee at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee.
