William Michael Curley was born June 30, 1945 to the late Lillian (McLoud) & Sheriff John G. Curley of Springfield, MA and passed away Monday May 29, 2017. Bill leaves behind his wife of 40 Years, Kathleen Egan Curley. He was predeceased by his in-laws Bridget & Maurice Egan of Holyoke MA. He was proud to be a father of three children, Kelly Curley Scott, Elizabeth Curley & Sean Curley (Rita Contardo).  He also loved his grandchildren, Corey Scott, Brenna Scott & Catherine Curley. Bill retired from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department as an Assistant Superintendent; Chief of Security after 41 years of service. He was honored by Sheriff Michael Ashe for serving one of the most distinguished careers in the history of the department with both the Central Control Room of the Stony Brook Correctional Center, and the annual Law Enforcement Service Scholarship being dedicated in his name. Bill graduated from Springfield Tech High School. He was a member of the Holyoke Elks and the Knights of Columbus. His love for cars started at a young age. He worked for his Uncle Johnny at the Mastroianni Auto Garage on Liberty St. in Springfield MA. Bill also loved boating, golfing, and traveling. He lived 4 months out of the year at his home in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Bill leaves behind his aunt, Margaret Mastroianni. His siblings, Martha (Curley) Demichele and her husband Sam DeMichele, Michael Curley, Daniel Curley and his husband, Steve Rumpler, Maggie Curley, John Curley and his wife Martha Curley, Kathleen Curley, and James Curley. His in laws, Maureen & Daniel Feeney (Deceased), Gerry Egan & his wife, Elizabeth Egan, Patricia Moynihan and her husband, Frank Moynihan, Dennis Egan and his wife Barbara Egan, Maurice Egan and his wife Maureen Egan. Bill will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of his family. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00am in St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke. Burial will take place in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of your choice, such as the American Cancer Society or The American Liver Foundation.
