William Henry “Bill” Curtis, III, 58, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday September 2, 2018. Bill was born on December 2, 1959 in Meriden, CT to the late William H. (Jr) and Denise (LaRochelle) Curtis. He attended Holyoke Public Schools and graduated in 1977 from Holyoke High School. Bill went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Anselm College in 1981. He enjoyed a career in the food service equipment industry for over 20 years as Vice President and co-owner of Holyoke Equipment Company. Bill was an avid sportsman, always eager to undertake new adventures, including kayaking, golfing, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking and bowling. He was a member of Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke for several years and participated in many local golf tournaments. Bill especially cherished his time spent at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire where he was able to carry on the "lake life" traditions that Grandpa Curtis established many years ago. Bill was an inspiration to many as he fought his battle with cancer with strength and courage for over 6 years. He is survived by his wife Patrice A. (Murren) Curtis and his daughter Michelle (Curtis) Selinger and her husband Luke of Somerville. He also leaves his siblings, Peter Curtis and his wife Christine, Linda Rosskothen and her husband Peter all of South Hadley and Tom Curtis and his wife Allison of Easthampton. He leaves his nieces and nephews, Jon (Diana), Laura, Monica, Melissa, Pierce, Blake, Jack, Anna Claire, Brendan, Maeve and Kate and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are asked to gather for Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, Holy Cross Avenue, Holyoke. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 12th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
