CHICOPEE: Albert S. “Al Chip” Czupkiewicz, Sr., age 86, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Stanley A. and Julia (Kurzeski) Czupkiewicz and was educated in the Holyoke Schools. He was the widower of Carole (Jubinville) Czupkiewicz after 54 years of marriage, who passed away in 2013. Al is a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Firefighter for the City of Holyoke, after 33 years of service and was a supervisor at Pratt & Austin for over 25 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #325, the Disabled American Veterans, and belonged to the Firefighters Local #1693. He was also an avid sports fan and loved to travel. Al is survived by four children: Albert S. Czupkiewicz, Jr., and his wife Deborah of Westfield, Ann Masse and her husband William “Bill” of Ludlow, Paul Czupkiewicz and his wife Linda of Westfield, and Diane Delaronde of Chicopee. He leaves 8 grandchildren: Sara Sanchez, Billy Czupkiewicz, Carly Masse, Taylor Masse, Julia Czupkiewicz, Melinda Pueschel, Celine Delaronde and Denis Delaronde, great grandchildren: Bernie Sanchez, Delilah Sanchez, William Czupkiewicz, Haley Czupkiewicz, Audrina Mongeau, and Lyla Pueschel, a sister-in-law, Pearl Jackson and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Albert was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Czupkiewicz, Jr. and his wife Pat Czupkiewicz.
Al’s family is eternally grateful for the extra love and care given by Melinda Pueschel and Alison Guz.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 12:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Albert to Friends of the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke, Inc., P.O. Box 1338, Holyoke, MA 01041 or to the American Legion Post #325, 22 Sycamore Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
