Alice E. (Cook) Marquis

Alice E. (Cook) Marquis, age 82, of Holyoke, passed away with her son at her side on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late John and Lorraine (Dragon) Cook, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. After high school, Alice studied dance at Jacobs Pillow in Becket, MA, an achievement of which she was very proud. Alice spent her working years as “Executive Homemaker,” while also helping with the family business, the former Marquis Oil Company. She faithfully attended Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Alice was the widow of Roger J. Marquis, Sr., who passed away in 2004. She is survived her beloved son, Marc Marquis and his wife Nicole of Grafton; her daughter-in-law, Kristin Marquis; and her grandchildren: Ashley, Alex, Evy, and RJ Marquis. Besides her parents and her husband, Alice was predeceased by her son Roger J. Marquis, Jr. in 2015. A private Memorial Mass for Alice will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jericho, P.O. Box 1039, Holyoke, MA 01041. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
