Allan Yopak Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan F. Yopak on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center after a short illness. Allan was born in Holyoke on August 7, 1955 to John Yopak, Sr. and Mary (Moynihan) Yopak. Allan was educated in Holyoke schools and graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School where he played football. Allan was a longtime resident of South Hadley. He was employed at Spaulding in Chicopee, retiring in 2017. He was a very hard worker and was a loyal friend to many. He was a lifelong New York Giants fan and especially enjoyed the trips he made with friends to attend the games in person. Allan enjoyed spending time at the Mount Tom Reservation, and cooking his favorite food for his friends. He especially enjoyed meeting friends at his favorite restaurant Amedeo’s in Holyoke. Allan is survived by his two daughters, Kristil Kelly and her husband Ian, and Dr. Kara Yopak and her husband Adam Shaw; one granddaughter, Brynn Kelly; a sister, Patricia Bourassa and her husband William; two nephews, Ben Bourassa and his wife Mindy, and Michael Bourassa and his wife Kathy; a niece, Amy Bourassa; two great-nieces: Cassidy Bourassa and Morgan McNulty; two great-nephews: Adam and Ryan Bourassa, and many cousins, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by a brother, John Yopak, Jr., a sister, Margaret Yopak, and many aunts and uncles. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Allan’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to FamilieSCN2A Foundation, PO Box 82, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
