Althea Simmons Obituary

Althea N. Simmons, age 100, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke, MA. She was born in Plantsville, CT on June 21, 1923, grew up in Springfield and graduated from High School of Commerce in 1941. Althea served in the United States Naval Reserve Waves during World War II. She married Montford V. Simmons in 1941 and lived and worked in Holyoke her entire life. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Richard Newton. She is survived by her son, Ernest and his wife Diane, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 nieces and their families. All services are private. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
