Andre P.E. Tourigny, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday December 22 at Mont Marie Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Holyoke. He was the husband of Huguette (Soulard) Tourigny. Born in trois -rivières Canada July 18,1934. Andre moved to Holyoke with his wife and two young daughters in 1965 to work at Parsons paper for many years and later was a manager for Cumberland farms and eventually opened his own store, The Open Pantry in Holyoke which he sold in 1984. He was an alcohol and drug rehab counselor for a few years with Baystate Health before his retirement. Besides his wife of 69 years, he leaves his daughter Diane Skwirz and her wife Alisa James and Myriam Mortimer and her husband Daniel. Five grandchildren, Andrea Saquet (Dave), Allison Skwirz , Ashley Ramble (Jason) ,Alexander Skwirz (Alexandra) and Corey Mortimer (Victoria) and 8 great grandchildren. Andre leaves 4 sisters Pierrette, Ghislaine, Helene and Nicole. He was pre deceased by his brothers, Leo, Rene and Maurice and sisters Therese and Denise and his grandson Daniel Mortimer. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 10th at 12:30 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
