Ann Marie Frost, age 83, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday March 20th after a brief illness. She was surrounded by the love and faith of her family. Ann was born in Holyoke to the late George Frost and Veronica (Lynch) Frost. Her large, loving Irish Catholic family was extremely important to Ann. As the second oldest of seven children, she was close with all her siblings as well as their children. Known as “Auntie Ann” to her family, she never forgot a birthday, holiday or special moment. She had a large group of friends that were by her side from high school onward. Ann was a graduate of Holyoke High School and Our Lady of The Elms College in Chicopee. Ann was a Sister of St. Joseph for 17 years. She earned a Master’s Degree at Framingham State and taught home economics at Holyoke High School for 30 years. She retired to her house on Cape Cod and was a patron of all things Irish. She visited the country many times with family and friends. Besides her parents, Ann is predeceased by her twin sister, Joan Frost, and siblings Veronica Sears and Dr. Robert Frost. She is survived by her brother George Frost (Clare) of Setauket, NY; sisters, Kathy Burke of Sandwich, MA; Elizabeth Gazda of West Springfield, MA; and sister-in-law, Brigid Frost of West Hartford, CT. “Auntie Ann” is also survived by 16 beloved nieces and nephews, as well as 27 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great, great nieces. Calling hours will take place on Saturday, March 27th from 9 to 10:30 am at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA at 11 am. Please note that masks and social distancing are required for all services. Burial and a celebration of life will be held at a later time this summer.
