Ann O'Leary Obituary

HOLYOKE

Ann O'Leary, 79, died peacefully Friday, October 30, 2020 at DayBrook Village Senior Living Center in Holyoke, MA.   She was a lifelong resident of Holyoke and a daughter of the late Vincent and Louise O'Leary.

Ann was a graduate of Holyoke High School and received her nursing degree from Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing, where she was valedictorian of her class.   She worked as an RN for many years and later in life was a real estate broker and school nurse in the Holyoke Public School System.   Ann was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and leaves behind many friends from the program.

She loved to travel, shop, golf, play cards, lounge at her pool and most especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Ann is survived by three children, Matthew Moriarty and his partner Sue Munns of Holyoke;, Julie Bihler and her husband Rick of Holyoke; Ted Moriarty and his wife Katie of Granby; and three grandchildren Connor, Ean and Karlie Moriarty of Granby .  She also leaves two sisters, Louise Kennedy and her husband Dan of Holyoke and their daughter, Casey; and Katherine Mulaney and her husband Matt of South Hadley and their children, Kate and Kara.  Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her partner, Bruce M. Burns; a son, James Moriarty and her brother James O'Leary.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Friday, November 6, 2020 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery, both in Holyoke.  Calling hours are private.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ann to Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Barry Farrell Funeral Home of Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Holyoke Council on Aging, 291 Pine Street, Holyoke, MA 01040
