Anne M (Gazda) Chaput, 64 years old, passed away on November 16, 2025 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. She was born on December 2, 1960 to Mary (Cauley) Gazda and Chester J Gazda in Holyoke, MA. She attended Kirtland Grammar School and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1979. She went to Holyoke Community College and graduated from the nursing program with an associates degree in nursing. She has been fondly called Nurse Anne for many years due to her school nurse position at Metcalf School in Holyoke and finishing her career at Westhampton Elementary School. She married David R Chaput, the love of her life and had two beautiful children, Rachel Chaput Merriam (David Merriam) and Tessa Chaput (Adam Byrd). She is Mima to her 5 grandchildren that are the lights of her life, Cameron Byrd, Emmitt Byrd, Shea Ferriter (Ryan Ferriter), Ruby Merriam and Nolan Merriam. She also leaves behind her loving siblings Mary Ellen (Gazda) Asher (Harry Asher), Patti (Gazda) Willis and Paul Gazda (Jennifer Gazda). She was predeceased by her parents, father-in-law Jack Chaput, brother-in-laws, John Chaput and Wendell Willis. Anne loved trips to Ogunquit Beach every summer and the girls weekends, especially the winter prelude with our nights around the Front Porch Piano Bar. Her favorite trip was bringing her mom to Ireland. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. You can make direct donations to the Jimmy Fund dedicated to brain cancer research. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23rd from 2-5 PM at Barry J Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke. There will be a celebration of life for Anne at Pic’s Pub and Pizzeria in Holyoke immediately following her services. Burial will be private at the family’s request. We will see you again Anne a.k.a. Tinker Bell, Annie Rooney, Nurse Anne, Mima and Ma.
