Antonieta Neves Obituary

Antonieta Aparecida Pudles Lourenco Neves, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022 with her children by her side. Antonieta was born June 8, 1943 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Carlos and Antonietta (Urso) Pudles and was educated there. She married the love of her life, Amandio L. Neves in 1974 and in the same year, immigrated to the Unites States to pursue the American dream. She remained extremely proud and patriotic of her Brazilian heritage, was a passionate soccer fan and loved music. She loved to learn and was a student of life; she enjoyed speaking multiple languages and was a tenacious and resilient woman. She loved the work that she did as a court reporter for the Holyoke Courthouse and her time working in electronics for Hamilton Standard and K&M Electronics. Antonieta especially loved her family and always wanted to be surrounded by her loved ones. She was affectionately known as “Cida” or “Le Cide” as her siblings called her. She was predeceased by her husband Amandio L. Neves on Oct. 4, 2001. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Marcia Neves and Nanci Neves, both of Holyoke, and her son, Amandio C. Neves and his wife Gail of Marblehead, MA along with two beloved granddaughters whom she loved with all her heart. Antonieta leaves her sisters Maria Rosalina, Paula, Augusta Joana, Teresa, Clara, and Adriana in Brazil, as well as her brothers Carlos Carmelo, Antonio Francisco, Joao Marcus, Daniel, and Alexandre also in Brazil. She was predeceased by her brother, Carlos Jose Maria; her oldest brother, Jaime Wilhelm Pudles, who was also her best friend; and her brother-in-law, Anibal Palhais da Silva, who was very special to her as well. She also leaves a large, extended family of brothers and sisters-in-laws, cherished nieces and nephews from the Lourenco, Neves, and Pudles families here in the US, Brazil, and Portugal. She was a parishioner of Saint Jerome Church. The funeral will be held Monday May 9 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will be held in Saint Jerome Cemetery.
