“Artie” Arturo Sebastian Gonzalez, of West Springfield, Massachusetts, tragically passed away in a car accident on September 7, 2025. He was 21 years old. Born on November 10th 2003, in Salina, Kansas. Artie brought a vibrant energy and a deep curiosity to everything he did. Artie was more than just a brother, he was a guiding light, a loyal friend, and an irreplaceable presence in our lives. His quick and infectious smile and laugh could light up any room. From a young age he showed an affinity for working with his hands and exploring the world around him. That passion led him down a unique path when at just 16 years old, he met metal artist and sculptor Kamil Peters through a youth program in Holyoke. Under Kamil’s mentorship, Artie began to hone his skills and develop a love for craftsmanship that would stay with him throughout his life. Artie worked as part of the maintenance team at Pelican Products Inc. a plastic fabrication company in Deerfield. His dedication to his work made him a valued member of the team. It was more than a job, it was something he genuinely loved doing. He found it fulfilling and took pride in his work. He saw his colleagues not just as people he worked with, but as friends. Outside of work, Artie found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, and hunting—activities that allowed him to connect with nature and challenge himself physically. One of his greatest passions was working on his motorcycle. He took pride in every detail and spent countless hours perfecting it. After earning his License to Carry (LTC), he enjoyed visiting the shooting range. Whether fixing something with his hands or exploring the wilderness, Artie embraced life with enthusiasm and determination.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother Amy Gonzalez; father Luciano Gonzalez Sr.; sister Dajah Francois; brothers Amen Horton, Luciano Gonzalez Jr. And His Nephew Kyrie Verdejo. Along with his loving extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends. Artie’s life was marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep appreciation for both craftsmanship and nature. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. Known for his sharp wit and ability to bring laughter. Artie will be deeply missed by his family, friends.
