Bryan Andrew Parsons Obituary

It is with profound grief that the family of Bryan Andrew Parsons announces his passing on October 30, 2025. Born in Holyoke on September 20, 1982, he was raised in Easthampton, educated at Sacred Heart, Notre Dame Immaculate Conception, Easthampton Public Schools, and attended the culinary program at Holyoke Community College. Growing up, he had been a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Easthampton. Bryan was a natural drummer, teaching himself from a very young age. He played drums in many local bands, choosing to later teach himself guitar. He was able to master both drums and guitar and used his talents to become a multifaceted musician and songwriter. Through the years he collaborated with many other local musicians and performed at a number of venues across the Northeast. In 2009 he had the “vision” of a place where local and transient musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels could practice and hone their musical crafts... individually or in groups. He developed that concept by creating, designing, and building the “OHM” in Easthampton. Through this work, Bryan was able to support and network many aspiring local musicians. The Ohm immediately became a haven for the musical performing arts, attracting hundreds of musicians from all across the Northeast. He managed the Ohm for over twelve years with a tireless dedication to his original vision while constantly investing in and expanding the dream. Bryan became a master craftsman and flourished in the wood flooring business for many years. He proudly owned and meticulously operated his business, Absolute Wood Floors, Inc., never advertising, as his business developed and grew entirely from referrals. He had a devotion to quality work and took pride in his ability to install a new floor or restore and preserve historical beauty, resulting in countless pleased customers. His intimate knowledge and understanding of all wood floor types and wood products was second to none. He loved to travel and explore and his excursions to Mexico, Paris, Rome and just this past summer to Ireland were adventures of discovery and fun, creating lasting memories for all around him. He and his girlfriend Kelly traveled over 12,000 miles by vehicle across the United States in 2023, bringing back so many great stories. Growing up, Bryan camped in Lake George NY and continued the tradition with his family every summer. He was a friend of nature and a caring pet owner, particularly to his cats Beasley Bear and Sugar Bear. More than once, he rescued, cared for and raised scurries of baby squirrels to maturity that had been orphaned. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX riding, or hiking some of the best kept secrets in the Pioneer Valley. To know him was to love him… He will be dearly missed. Bryan is lovingly survived by his parents, Thomas and Cindy Parsons (Felsentreger) of Easthampton, his girlfriend Kelly Bunnell, brothers Nathan Parsons (Carla) of Orlando, Geoffrey Parsons (Kara) of Greenfield, Casey Parsons (Natalie) of Easthampton, and sister Katheryn Chandler (Daniel) of Holyoke. Bryan leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and an army of cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Andrew B. and Margaret A. Parsons (Cassidy), maternal grandparents, Howard T. and Patricia L. Felsentreger (Moynahan), and his brother, Nicholas Michael Parsons. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 9:00am from the Barry J Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Cross Parish, Holy Cross Avenue, Holyoke.
