Carol Ann Dineen Obituary

Carol Ann (Egan) Dineen left this world on October 2, 2024 leaving a void her family cannot fill.  Carol was born (August 9, 1939) and raised in Holyoke to William D. Egan and Pearl (Hebert) Egan. She attended and proudly graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing along with her sister Pearline. After graduation, Carol was chosen to be charge Nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston where she touched countless lives and made lifelong friendships.  Carol had a very special bond to her Grandmother Rose Hebert, whom she cherished. She met and married her true love and best friend, Paul R. Dineen, who predeceased her in 2011. They memorably shared 48 years together and had 4 children; Paul Jr, (died in infancy) Paula Rose Patruno of St. Pete Florida, Todd T. Dineen of Easthampton and Marci Lynn Dineen of Warren, MA. Carol and her sister along with their husbands owned and operated Sistours travel agency where they enjoyed each-others company and made many more cherished friends. She finished her professional career as the town nurse for the Board of Health in South Hadley, again making positive contributions and selfless service to her community.  She and Paul purchased a summer home on the water in Peacham VT where many treasured family memories occurred. Family was Carols first and dearly prized purpose in life and all who had the pleasure of her friendship would certainly agree. Carol is preceded by her sister, Susan M. Egan (2015) and is survived by her sister Pearline (Egan) Scribner of Holyoke, William (jr) and Kathleen Egan of Florida, her grandson Kyle Patruno, granddaughters Marisa and Kayley Dineen and great grandson Benjamin Fogwill. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. May we meet again. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Carol on Saturday, October 19th at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Carol to Peacham Volunteer Fire Department, 64 Mack’s Mountain Road, P.O. Box 112, Peacham VT 05862.
