Carol J. (Dorman) Glanville, 82, passed away at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. She was born February 20, 1943 in Holyoke to the late George and Jeannette (Verdon) Dorman. She attended Chicopee High School and loved working at her various jobs, but her favorite was Elco Dress Co. in Holyoke, Ma where she kept up with the latest styles & fashions. Carol was very well known for her polished wardrobe that was always finished off with matching shoes, pocketbooks, jewelry & lipstick. She loved being a part of the Red Hat Society and going on their field trips. Carol loved knitting, going out to eat, shopping & making jewelry. She was very crafty and had a special talent for making themed party cakes from birthdays to weddings. She was also an avid doll and puzzle collector.
Carol will be missed by her beloved husband, James S. Glanville Sr. of 64 years; her Children, James S. Glanville Jr. and his wife Brenda of Chicopee & Kelly J. Dawson and her husband Patrick of South Hadley; Grandchildren, Jameson Glanville, Joseph Glanville & Husband, Gregory Stackhouse, Jack Dawson, Liam Dawson, Farrell Dawson & Owen Dawson, and a sister-in-law Karen Dorman, along with many close family members, friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was also predeceased by her eldest Daughter, Joan K. Glanville & her Brother, George Dorman Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 14, from 12-2pm. at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home located at 2049 Northampton St. Holyoke, Ma 01040. There will be a Mass on Monday December 15, at 10am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 1945 Northampton St. Holyoke Ma 01040. Followed by a Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery at 63 Lyman St. South Hadley, Ma 01075. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holyoke VNA and Hospice 575 Beech St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
