HOLYOKE
Carol L. (Aspden) Hurley, age 81, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2021. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Sibley) Aspden and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. She worked as a Nurse’s Aid at Holyoke Pediatrics for many years. Carol enjoyed sewing and taught a sewing class at the YMCA. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in South Hadley. Carol is survived by her husband, John Hurley; three sons, Greg and his wife Cheryl of Granby, Edward and his wife Mary of Holyoke, and Lee-Jay of Nantucket; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth Hungerford and her husband Brian, Alyssa Hurley, Sean Hurley and his wife Molly, Kevin Hurley, Alexis Parks, Christopher Camus and Aimee Jean Welch and her husband Eric, and three great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Charlotte Proulx of Enfield and Barbara Gibbs of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Camus in 2002 and a grandson, Phillip Parks in 2021. Family and friends are invited to gather for Carol’s funeral service on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:00am in the Second Baptist Church, 589 Granby Road, South Hadley. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
