Carole A. (Burdick) Mazzu, 82, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Carole was born in Florida, Massachusetts daughter of the late Robert H. and Viola M. (St. Cyr) Burdick. Carole was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who brought joy to all with her big, bright smile! She loved spending time with all her family, playing with her grandchildren and sewing many outfits for them! For 33 years, Carole was a waitress at the Yankee Pedlar Inn & Restaurant in Holyoke. Carole is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Mazzu) and Bob Deitz of Boca Raton, FL; three sons: James and Ying Mazzu of Harvard, MA, Michael and Veronica Mazzu of Ayer, MA, and John and MaryJo Mazzu of Holyoke, MA; nine grandchildren: Cayla, Annika, Lianna, Melissa, Michelle, Kathleen, Alyssa, Alysson and AJ; two brothers: Ronald Burdick and Roger Burdick; and many nieces and nephews. Carole was predeceased by her siblings Victor, Elaine, and Janice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 5 at 11:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery. There is a calling hour from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
