WEST SPRINGFIELD: Charles “Chuck” Bradway, 87, of West Springfield, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Day Brook Village Nursing Home in Holyoke. He was born on December 8, 1933, the second of three children of S. Pauline Smith and Earl Bradway. Chuck grew up in Springfield and graduated from its high school. He was a member of South Congregational Church. Chuck leaves his partner of 23 years, Bea Robinson; his son, Greg Bradway of Leesburg, FL; his sister, Pauline LaBorde; a nephew, Ray LaBorde; niece, Linda Gauthier; nephew, Bruce Lammers and niece Candy Lammers as well as extended family and friends. Chuck’s business of many years was Bradway’s Limousine. He and his staff picked up and delivered to various locations those who had flown into Boston & Bradley Airports, or those who arrived by train in Hartford or Springfield. Chuck’s passion was music; he did not play an instrument but appreciated what he heard. On Tuesday mornings it was the Tuesday Music Club and on many Saturday evenings it was the Springfield Symphony (20 years ago Chuck had driven to Boston to pick up Kevin Rhodes, who would be having his initial interview to be the Springfield Symphony’s conductor, a position he has held since then). In the summer Chuck & Bea never missed a Sevenars Concert in Worthington, MA. Chuck also enjoyed the Holyoke Civic Symphony, the Pioneer Valley Symphony, and other local music productions. Cremation was handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke. All services will be held at a later date.
