Cheryl Ann (Maloney) Sickles Obituary

Cheryl Ann Sickles (Maloney), age 71 passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was born July 20, 1954 in Holyoke MA to her parents, the late Gladys (Bettro) and Martin F. Maloney. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1972 and worked for several organizations assisting the disabled, including UMass, Goodwill and Riverside Industries. She was an avid volunteer in her community, offering her time and talents to many causes, holding a special fondness for her years at Kate’s Kitchen. Cheryl was small in stature but large in personality with boundless positive energy. Her enthusiasm when sharing favorite memories or talking about the WWE, made everyone around smile. She loved to dance, sing along to her favorite music and cheer on others to join in. She was quick to pack her bag and take a trip, whether spending weekends with family or going to the beach. She was blessed with wonderful caregivers and many friends, especially those at The Quality of Life Center. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John F. Maloney and niece Erica M. Maloney. She leaves her dear sister Nancy Maloney and brother Steven Maloney of Holyoke and William Maloney (Deborah) of Agawam. She also leaves her nephews, John, Alexander and Will Maloney. Cheryl navigated through many challenges but never lost her optimism or sense of fun. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring. Contributions can be made to your favorite charity. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
