Christine Louise Fay, 75, transitioned to heaven very early Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 in Greenfield, MA. She is survived by her daughter, Johnna Fay, and son-in-law, Paul Kennedy, of Greenbelt, MD; chosen family Kathleen, Sean, Corbin, and Nolan Diver of Chicopee, MA; chosen family Brian Welcome and Dawn Franklin of West Springfield, MA; chosen family Krystle and Craig McCahill of Andover, CT; and her sister, Patricia Sexton, of Holyoke, MA.

As a lifelong psychiatric and detox nurse, Chris held the most vulnerable in her hands, healed the sick, and gave the hopeless hope. Lover of animals, flowers, and the ocean, she brought a sense of peace and comfort to anyone around her. Many people knew Chris as “Momma Fay” because she truly did embody kindness, love, and compassion for almost every soul she met. She would never say no to a game of Scrabble or an episode of Friends, and cheered for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics her whole life. She had a passion for music, film, and art that enriched her life with culture and continued curiosity.

While she faced frequent struggles throughout her lifetime, her unwavering faith in God and Jesus’s love carried her on her path. She danced in the rain and laughed through the most intense storms of life. Through her unconditional love, Chris taught her children that strength isn’t about never falling apart; its about trusting that you can rebuild every single time.
