HOLYOKE: Cornelius Shea, 83, of Holyoke MA, succumbed to heart failure at the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on September 28, 2018. Neil is survived by his beloved wife Catherine (Kay) of 59 years, daughters Ann Occhuiuzzo and husband John of Westfield, Kathy Shea and partner Chris Frangakis of Belchertown, Debra Shea-Zajac and husband Frank of Palm Coast, FL, son Cornelius (Jay) Shea and wife Kimberly of Southampton, 10 loving grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Neil was a loving father, husband, grandfather. He was a graduate of Holyoke Community College. He worked in various capacities at the Holyoke Gas and Electric. Neil loved sports, especially tennis, cycling, body surfing and in his earlier days Judo. He spent his free time watching news, stocks and sports games on TV and traveling to escape the cold weather. His most favorite moments were spent sitting on a beach with family and friends solving puzzles and watching the waves. Neil was always there to offer helpful guidance, strength and support. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. followed by a Graveside Service at 12:00 p.m. in Saint Jerome Cemetery.
