Daisy (Calderon) Montalvo, age 66, of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Clemente Calderon and Hilda Rivera, and was educated in Puerto Rico. She lived in Holyoke for many years before moving to Westfield 8 years ago. Daisy was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Westfield, and was previously a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Holyoke. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jose R. “Joe” Montalvo; a son, Jose R. Montalvo, Jr. of Holyoke; a daughter, Annabel Montalvo Lunardini and her husband Brett of Raynham; three grandchildren: Ariana Montalvo, and John and Joseph Lunardini; six brothers: Miguel Calderon of Chicopee, Jorge Calderon of Holyoke, and Ruben, Manuel, Anselmo, and David Calderon, all of Puerto Rico; and two sisters: Martha and Alvilda Calderon, both of Puerto Rico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Daisy on Tuesday, June 1st at 11 am in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 31st from 4 to 7 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
