Daniel M. Fletcher – age 77, of Holyoke passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at The Meadows skilled nursing home in Leicester, MA. He was born at Eglin Field Military Base in Florida, the son of the late Gardner Fletcher and Margaret R. (O’Leary) Fletcher.
Danny worked in housekeeping at Holyoke Medical Center for many years and retired from the Holyoke Soldier’s Home after 30 years.
Danny leaves behind his cherished family including brother Alan, sister Barbara LaFlamme and several nieces and nephews including Jay Wohlers, Lisa Wohlers-Basak, Fred Wohlers, Kelli Wohlers and Kristen LaFlamme.
Danny also leaves many great nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by sister-in-law Patricia Fletcher, brother-in law, Lester LaFlamme, cousins William Tallman, John Tallman, Sharon Tallman Hood, and Stephen Tallman.
Danny was fortunate to have many relatives including Mary Ann Tallman McConnell, Anthony Tallman, Peter Tallman, Peggy Tallman McGee, Clark Tallman, David Tallman, Linda Tallman, the wife of the late William Tallman, and Maria Tallman, wife of the late John Tallman.
In addition, Danny leaves special friends including Johnny Hart and Abdul from C Mart and his coffee buddies at Dunkin’ Donuts.
His interests included looking for the big win in $1 Lottery tickets that he enjoyed scratching so much!
Wrestling was another interest especially when Leita was in the ring!
Danny was a diehard New York Yankee fan!
The family would like to remember the outstanding medical staff in the Intensive Care Unit on the 8th floor at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston where Danny received loving care for over 6 months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke. Burial to follow at St. Jerome’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home.
