Daniel Williamson, Sr. Obituary

FEEDING HILLS

Daniel E. Williamson Sr. in his 62nd year passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on January 14, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1960, in Holyoke, MA. Dan was the son of the late Theodore & Eugenia (Keough) Williamson. He was also predeceased by his sister Constance and his great nephew Connor Albert. He will be forever cherished by his best friend and wife Wendy Williamson (Sherk) whom he married on October 8, 2006. They both resided in Southwick for the past 17 years and recently moved to Feeding Hills. Dan was a loving father to his three children: Daniel Williamson Jr. (DJ) and his wife Jillian (Janicki) of West Springfield, Gina of Westfield, Victoria and her partner David Albert of Westfield, along with his siblings: Theodore Q., Jr (Susan) of Magnolia, DE, Laurelee Brown (Walter) of Orland Park, FL; Paul K. (Katherine) of Malvern PA; David J. (Gina) of Colleyville, TX; Rosilind H. Drukker of Port Washington, NY; and Margot A. O’Connor (Kevin) of Scarborough, ME. Dan will also be fondly remembered by his Canadian family, his friends, and his 26 nieces and nephews and their children. Dan graduated from Holyoke High School in 1978. Following graduation, Dan attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst MA-Stockbridge School of Agriculture where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business/ Turf Management in 1982. Dan was a career sales person for the last 35 years, and currently worked as a Sales Manager for DAP Foam Products out of Baltimore, MD. Dan had a way of lighting up a room wherever he went. He was an avid jokester and wanted to put a smile on everyone’s face he encountered. It was common to receive an uncanny, yet funny text message, video, or phone call at all hours of the day. He was a “stop to smell the roses” kind of guy, and always took the time to take photos and videos so he could share them with the people who mattered to him the most. He would take the time to get to know everyone he met. Dan was an avid golfer, pool shark, classic car enthusiast, enjoyed anything outdoors, to include: skiing, snowshoeing, throwing the “pigskin”, and exploring. He is known for his “short cuts” driving to and from any destination, which was always the more scenic routes and roads less traveled, always playing his unique genre of music. Dan and his wife Wendy were members of the Ranch Golf course in Southwick where they have made lifelong friendships. Dan was meticulous about his lawn care and was often known to some as the “lawn ranger”, due to his impeccable grounds he kept. Dan was a devoted fan of his beloved New York Yankees and New York Giants. A Celebration of Danny’s life will be held Friday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be at a later date.
