David James Lumbra, 52, of 30 Sunset Road, Holyoke MA, former Custodian for the Holyoke Public Schools, died Wednesday, August 21, 2023, at home. David or “Gumby” as he was known amongst friends was born on November 8, 1971 in Salem, Alabama. The first of three children to James R Lumbra and Agnes “Gigi” (Quinn) Lumbra. A lifelong resident of this city and was a 1989 graduate of Holyoke High School. David was predeceased by his mother and is survived by her second husband Gerald Connell whom he lived with, his father James of Southampton, his brother, Jon D Lumbra his wife Patricia M (Lecko) Lumbra and their three children, Sophia, Lilian, & Jacob all of Southampton, Brenda J Lumbra her wife Melissa James of Salem MA, and their daughter Kayla Q Lumbra of Peabody MA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Barry J. Farrell’s Funeral Home 2049. Northampton Street. The burial will be held at a later date convenient to the family. The family asks that no flowers be sent, but if so inclined, that a contribution to the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, 48 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA 01089
