David H. ”Dave” Sabourin, age 66, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully after a short illness on October 31, 2025 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Henry and June (Dennehy) Sabourin and was a 1978 graduate of Holyoke High School. Dave held a Master’s Degree in Education and taught at Dean Technical and Holyoke High School for over 20 years. Previously he owned his own framing business, City Art and Frame . Dave was an exceptional athlete. He pitched the 1978 Holyoke High School Division 1 baseball team to the Western Mass and State Championships, starting and winning both games. After injuring his arm in college he turned to golf and quickly excelled in the sport. He was a longstanding member of Wyckoff Country Club and past club champion, and amassed 9 holes in one throughout his playing career.

Dave is survived by his wife Patricia “Trish” (Ginley) Sabourin, his children; Matt Sabourin and his wife Amanda of Belchertown, Katie Sabourin of Holyoke and Sean Sabourin of Holyoke; and two grandchildren, Delaney and Luke Sabourin. Besides his parents Dave was predeceased by his sister, Marylou Sabourin in 2024.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Committal prayers will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 5th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dave to Jericho, P.O.
