David "DJ" Johnson, Sr. Obituary

David passed away on January 15, 2022. Some people knew him as “Bo” and others as “DJ”.
Born and raised in Whiteville, NC. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a cook at Grants, Abdows, and Kmart.

His parents (Mack and Ethel Johnson), his wife Lois, and grandson James predeceased him.
David’s brothers: William, Billy Joe, Paul, Norward, and their families survive him.
His children survive him: Lenora, David, Ethel, and Robert.
His grandchildren: Rebekah, Tanisha, Elon, Acaia, Madeline, Sammy, Jamal, Joel, Jeremiah, Alexander, and Abigail and his great-grandson Dakota also survive him.

He leaves his companion Patricia and her children: Christine, Shelley, Sue, and Patricia’s grandchildren Tyler, Ashelyn, Lexie, Ally, and Dyson.

We will miss his cooking skills, love of coffee, and a lifetime of stories he shared with us.

A military ceremony will be later at the convenience of the family.
