Debra Ann (Schmitter) Morsen

HOLYOKE

Debra Ann (Schmitter) Morsen, age 51, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She was born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Paul D. Schmitter, Sr. and Patricia A. (Dubilo) Schmitter, and was educated in the Holyoke Public Schools. Debra graduated from Holyoke High School in 1986 and later attended STCC; she then worked for many years as a Paralegal in several real estate offices in Hampden County. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Holyoke, loved animals, watching movies, and most enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Debra is predeceased by her father Paul D. Schmitter, Sr, and is survived by her mother Patricia A. (Dubilo) Schmitter. Additionally, she is survived by her former spouse, Anthony S. Morsen; her three daughters: Melissa Rojas (Alexander), Taylor Leary (Shawn), and Ashley Morsen; a grandson, Oliver Rojas; a brother, Paul Schmitter, Jr.; and a niece, Kaitlyn Schmitter. Calling hours are open to the public and will be held on Monday, February 24th from 9 to 11 am at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke, MA, followed by a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Debra Morsen to the 2020 UMass Dance Marathon, benefiting Baystate Children’s Hospital, c/o Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
